Software is injectible objects with respect to a computer system. Which can not be touch & feel.
Ex- VLC Player, M.S. office, tally, Games.
Definition 2
Software is the interface between user & hardware or man and machine.
Definition 3
Software is the soul of hardware. Without software, hardware is useless & cannot perform.
There are two types of software........
- 1)System Software
- 2)Application Software
System Software- System software is necessary software for the system. A machine cannot run with system software.
Ex-
- 1)Operating System(Windows, Linux, Macintosh, Android, Unix, Symbian)
- 2)Assembler
- 3)Interpreter
- 4)Translator

Application Software-
Application software is normally known as Apps. Which can be installed & uninstalled according to your work. They are not compulsory for the system.
Ex-
- 1) Entertainment Software(Netflix, Amazon Prime, Youtube, Mx player, Hotstar, etc.)
- 2) Gaming Software( Free fire, Ludo, Pubg, etc.)
- 3) Messenger Apps(Instagram, Whatsapp, Signal, Telegram, etc.)
- 4) Word Processing Software(MS Word, Open Writer, Wordpad, Google Docs, etc.)
- 5) Spreadsheet Software(MS Excel, Open Calc, Google Sheets, etc.)
- 6) Presentation Software(MS Powerpoint, Open Impress, Google Slides, etc.)
- 7) Photo Editing Software(Photoshop, Pics Art, etc.)

Hardware
Definition
Hardware is those part which can be touch by the user. They can be internal and external. Ex-Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard, Cabinet, Processor, Ram, Rom, SMPS, CMOS battery, etc.
Keyboard-- The keyboard is an input device that allows a person to enter letters, numbers, and other symbols (these are called characters). It is one of the most used input devices for computers. It is like a typewriter. It is the most popular & needed input device.
Mouse-- It is a very known & easy-to-use device. A computer mouse, often simply referred to as a mouse, is a hand-held pointing device that detects two-dimensional motion relative to a surface. This motion is typically translated into the motion of a pointer on a display, which allows a smooth control of the graphical user interface.
Monitor-- A machine that shows information or pictures on a screen like a television is known as Monitor. We have its three main types--
CRT(Cathode Ray Tube) -- These monitors employ CRT technology, which was used most commonly in the manufacturing of television screens. With these monitors, a stream of intense high-energy electrons was used for showing images and all.
LCD(liquid crystal display) -- The LCD monitor incorporates one of the most advanced technologies available today. LCD is a flat panel display technology commonly used in TVs and computer monitors. It is also used in screens for mobile devices, such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
LED( Light Emitting Diodes ) -- LED monitors are the latest types of monitors on the market today. These are flat panels. LED monitors are said to use much lesser power than CRT and LCD and are considered far more environmentally friendly.
Cabinet-- Cabinet is a metal box that is generally known as a CPU. But it is not a CPU it is a cabinet where the components are placed. Processor(CPU), Harddisk, RAM, South, Northbridge, SMPS(Switch Mode Power Supply), Video, Audio Card, etc.
